Psychiatric Care Developmental Foundation Holds Discussion Session on "Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies"
The Psychiatric Care Developmental Foundation (PCF), in partnership with the National Mental Health Program at the Ministry of Health and Population, organized a discussion session on Monday, October 13, 2025, titled:
"Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies"
The session was attended by 21 participants from various relevant entities, including representatives from local and international organizations working in mental health, psychosocial support, and protection. Also present were psychological and social specialists, representatives from the Ministry of Public Health and Population, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, and several other related government bodies.
The discussion session aimed to highlight ways to enhance access to mental health services during catastrophes and emergencies and to discuss coordination mechanisms among relevant entities to ensure an effective and sustainable response. During the discussions, key challenges were reviewed, and improvement proposals were suggested to develop mental health and psychosocial support services.
