A Delegation from UNFPA Visits the" Provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services for Women and Girls" Project in Aden
Aden, Yemen – March 18, 2024 – a delegation from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), led by Mr.Jean Paul, Head of UNFPA Aden Office, today visited the "Provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services for Women and Girls" Project implemented by the Psychiatric Care Developmental Foundation at the Neuro-Psychiatric Teaching Hospital.
The project aims to contribute to promoting mental health and psychosocial support for women and girls. The UNFPA delegation, which also included Dr. Arwa Shaker, UNFPA's Reproductive Health Programme Analyst, and Ms. Marina Al-Jobani, UNFPA's Gender-Based Violence Programme Analyst, was warmly welcomed by the Foundation's representatives, Dr. Akram Abdul Aziz and Ms. Manah Al-Wasaabi.
During the tour Mr.Jean Paul was briefed on the project's progress, challenges faced, and received recommendations for improvement. He also met with beneficiaries whose testimonies highlighted the positive impact of the services.
At the end of the visit, Mr.Jean Paul stressed the importance of mental health and psychosocial support services for women and girls, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of the Psychiatric Care Developmental Foundation in this field.
